How long we retain your data

The AbbeyPet General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Policy documents the necessary information required to effectively manage Data Protection. The UK’s first Data Protection Act was passed in 1984 and the second Act was passed in 1998, coming into force on 1 March 2000. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was passed in 2016 and comes into force after a two-year preparation period on 25 May 2018. GDPR originated in the European Parliament but will be fully absorbed into UK law regardless of the UK exiting the European Union. AbbeyPet Animal Behaviour Clinic will respect privacy and your rights to control your personal data. Our principle guidelines are simple. We will be clear about the data we collect and why. We will only pass your contact information on should you request us to do so, should you have copied others into communications or should it be for the purposes of our delivery to you.

Should you supply your work contact details these will be treated in the same way as personal details.

Our bank stores your payment details.

AbbeyPet Access to your Information

As per our data access information in our Overview, your information is kept solely for use by AbbeyPet staff. We will retain your information on business phones as saved contacts or within email chains under business accounts. We retain this information until your details are no longer needed. You may contact us to confirm whether you wish us to retain your details. All email and phone accounts are password protected to reduce the risk of loss of data in the event of theft. All financial details are held by our bank and only accessible to our directors when securely using bank facilities.
